Bible Cartoon: Judas, the Fisherman, Matthew 17:23-37
READ: MATTHEW 17:23-27
Judas, The Fisherman

Judas figured if it worked once, it could work again. False religion is any attempt to duplicate the works of God by rituals or formulas. Actually, the Bible didn't say that Judas went out and fished for coins. Being the holder of the money bag who often helped himself to the money, doesn't that seem like something he would try?

What Judas needed (and never achieved) was a trusting, intimate relationship with Jesus. That's what we all need. That's the only way we can see the hand of God moving in our own life.
REFLECT:
1. Have you been guilty of ignoring the Lord until you got in a tight spot?

2. Why do you think Jesus performed the miracle of the coin in the fish?

3. Does the Lord perform miracles today? Why or why not?
RESPOND:
"Lord, help me to develop such a close relationship with You that I can see Your hand at work in every little thing that happens."
